Simplify Your Practice Finances. Start Here
Running a private practice means you’re not only a therapist—you’re also a business owner. And the financial side of that business can come with a lot of questions no one taught you how to answer.
At Fortitude Tax & Accounting, we help therapists understand what’s happening financially, stay ahead of taxes, keep reliable books, and make better-informed decisions about their practices.
And you don’t have to buy everything from us to get good support. You can come to Fortitude for professional tax preparation, add proactive tax planning when it makes sense, manage your own bookkeeping, learn through our Done-With-You program, or have our team handle the books for you.
Our job isn’t to fit your practice into a predetermined package. It’s to help you get the right financial support for where your practice is today—and adjust that support as your business grows and changes.
More clarity about your numbers. More confidence in your decisions. Better support for the business you’re building.

Your practice won’t need the same financial support at every stage. You may need help getting taxes handled well today, more proactive planning as your income grows, or bookkeeping support when doing it yourself no longer makes sense.
Get the compliance work handled accurately and understand what was filed.
Look ahead when planning adds value, so you have time to make decisions and prepare.
Do it yourself, learn with us, or let our team handle it—the level of support can change as your practice does.
Start where you are. Add support when you need it.
You don’t need to sign up for everything at once. We’ll help you determine what makes sense now and adjust as your needs change.

Start with what you need today. Add or change support as your practice grows.
Along the way, we can also help with decisions such as S corporation elections, reasonable compensation, payroll setup, and other tax and business questions when they’re relevant to your situation.
Fortitude Tax & Accounting serves therapists and private practices nationwide.
Your practice is a business—but that doesn’t mean you need every financial service all at once. Start with what makes sense today, whether that’s professional tax preparation, proactive tax planning, or help keeping your books organized.
Choose where you’d like some support. We’ll help you figure out the rest.

Prepare. Plan. Stay Ahead.
Professional tax preparation is the foundation. Add a strategically timed forecast or more proactive planning when it makes sense for you and your practice.

Reliable Books. Less on Your Plate.
Choose Checkpoint or Monthly full-service bookkeeping based on how often your practice actually needs professional attention and current financial information.

You Can Do This. We’ll Show You How.
Learn to manage your own practice books with professional reviews, personalized feedback, monthly office hours, and guidance as you build your skills and confidence.

Questions about the financial side of private practice? Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often.
Fortitude provides tax preparation, proactive tax planning, full-service bookkeeping, and Done-With-You Bookkeeping for therapists in private practice. We can also help with issues such as S corporation elections, reasonable compensation, payroll setup, and other tax and business questions when they’re relevant to your situation.
You don’t have to use every service. We’ll help you choose the support that makes sense for your practice today, and that support can change as your needs change.
No. You can work with Fortitude for tax preparation or planning without using our bookkeeping services.
You can maintain your own books, work with another bookkeeper, or use Fortitude for bookkeeping if that’s the right fit. We don’t require you to purchase unrelated services simply to work with us.
Yes. If your practice is straightforward and you’d like to learn to manage your own books, our Done-With-You Bookkeeping program was created specifically for that.
You handle the routine bookkeeping while we provide professional reviews, reconciliations, feedback, and monthly office hours to help you learn. The goal is to build the skills and confidence to understand and manage your own practice books—not to turn you into an accountant.
Not every therapist needs ongoing tax planning. If your situation is relatively stable and you’re comfortable managing your tax cash flow, professional tax preparation may be all the support you need.
Planning becomes more valuable when income is growing or changing, you’re concerned about what you’ll owe, you’re considering significant business decisions, or you simply want more visibility before tax time. Fortitude offers different levels of planning support so you don’t have to pay for more than is useful to you.
Yes. We work with therapists operating as sole proprietors, single-member LLCs, and S corporations, including preparation of both business and personal tax returns when applicable.
For S corporation owners, we can also help with issues such as reasonable compensation, payroll, shareholder health insurance, accountable plans, and other compliance considerations when those services are part of your engagement.
Yes. An S corporation can create meaningful tax savings in the right situation, but it also comes with additional tax filings, payroll, administrative responsibilities, and costs.
We look at the bigger picture rather than relying on a single revenue number or rule of thumb. The goal is to determine whether the potential benefit makes sense for your actual practice—and to help you understand what comes with the decision before you make it.
Yes. Fortitude is a virtual tax and accounting firm based in Utah, and we work with therapists and private practice owners throughout the United States.
Our work is handled through secure online systems, virtual meetings, and our client portal, so you don’t need to be located near our office to work with us.
That’s completely fine. You don’t need to diagnose your own accounting needs before you contact us.
We’ll learn about your practice, how your business is structured, what you’re currently handling yourself, and where you’re running into questions or frustration. From there, we can help you identify the level of support that makes sense without automatically adding services you don’t need.
Start with a conversation. We’ll learn a little about you and your practice, talk about what prompted you to reach out, and determine whether Fortitude and our services are a good fit for what you need.
If it makes sense to move forward, we’ll explain the recommended services, pricing, and next steps before you make a decision.
