You built your business around what you do well—not tax rules, bookkeeping, or accounting.
Fortitude Tax & Accounting works with service-based business owners who want clearer numbers, practical guidance, and accounting support that fits the way their business actually operates.
Whether you’re a consultant, attorney, coach, creative professional, agency owner, trades professional, or another service-based business, we can help with tax preparation, proactive tax planning, bookkeeping, and the accounting decisions that come with running and growing a business.
You don’t need every service we offer. You need the right support for the business you have today.
Service businesses can look very different from one another. A solo consultant may need little more than accurate tax preparation, while a growing agency, professional practice, or trades business may need bookkeeping, payroll, tax planning, and more structure around the numbers.
Fortitude helps you choose the level of support that makes sense for the business you have today—without forcing services together into a package you don’t need.
Start with accurate tax preparation, then add proactive planning when changing income, estimated taxes, an S corporation, or other business decisions make looking ahead worthwhile.
Choose from Checkpoint, Monthly, or Weekly bookkeeping depending on how often your business needs attention. We work in QuickBooks Online or Xero, and your accounting file and data remain yours.

Different businesses need different levels of support. Fortitude services can stand alone or work together depending on what your business actually needs.
Already have a bookkeeper or handle your own books? That’s fine. You do not need to use Fortitude for bookkeeping to work with us for tax preparation or planning.

Tax Preparation & Planning
Accurate business and individual tax preparation, with proactive planning available when looking ahead provides meaningful value. From estimated taxes and changing income to S corporation considerations and year-end decisions, choose the level of tax support that fits your business.

Bookkeeping for Service Businesses
Good books should give you useful information—not just something to hand your tax preparer. Choose Checkpoint, Monthly, or Weekly bookkeeping based on how often your business needs attention. We work in QuickBooks Online or Xero, and your accounting file and data remain yours.

New Business & Entity Setup
Starting a business or deciding whether your current structure still makes sense? We can help with entity selection, LLC and S corporation considerations, tax setup, accounting systems, and the practical steps needed to start on solid footing.

Fortitude works with a variety of service-based businesses, including consultants, attorneys, coaches, creative professionals, agencies, IT professionals, contractors, trades businesses, and other companies that primarily earn revenue by providing services. We work with businesses at different stages, from solo owners to established businesses with employees or contractors. The right fit depends less on your exact profession and more on the type of tax, bookkeeping, and accounting support your business needs.
Not necessarily. An LLC and an S corporation serve different purposes, and neither is automatically the right choice for every service business. The appropriate structure depends on factors such as ownership, income, liability considerations, state requirements, payroll responsibilities, administrative costs, and your overall tax situation. Fortitude can help evaluate your options and, when appropriate, assist with the tax and accounting steps involved in setting up or changing your business structure.
Yes. You do not need to use Fortitude for bookkeeping in order to work with us for tax preparation or proactive tax planning. If you already have a bookkeeper you like or maintain your own books, we can work from those records as long as they provide the information needed for the tax or planning work we’re performing. If you need more bookkeeping support later, Fortitude also offers Checkpoint, Monthly, and Weekly bookkeeping options.
Service businesses may be able to deduct ordinary and necessary expenses related to operating the business. Depending on the business, that may include professional software, advertising, insurance, education, professional fees, office expenses, certain vehicle and travel costs, payroll or contractor costs, and qualifying business use of a home. The rules and documentation requirements vary by expense, so an expense being business-related does not automatically make every dollar deductible. Good records help support the deductions reported on your tax return.
Business owners who do not have enough tax withheld from other income may need to make quarterly estimated tax payments. The amount depends on your business profit, filing status, other household income, entity structure, state taxes, and other factors. Prior-year taxes can provide a starting point, but when income changes significantly, a current-year tax projection can provide more useful guidance about what you may need to pay and set aside.
Tax preparation primarily looks backward and reports what happened during a tax year that has already ended. Proactive tax planning looks ahead using current information to estimate taxes and identify decisions that may need attention before year-end. Fortitude offers tax preparation as a stand-alone service, with additional planning available for business owners whose income, entity structure, estimated taxes, or other circumstances make looking ahead worthwhile.
