Ready to put better support behind your business? Book a Conversation
Real estate income can be unpredictable. Your tax and accounting systems shouldn’t be.
Fortitude Tax & Accounting works with Realtors, brokers, teams, and other real estate professionals who want clearer numbers, better organization, and practical guidance throughout the year. Whether you need tax preparation, proactive planning, bookkeeping, or help deciding when an S corporation makes sense, we help put the right structure around your business.
Whether you’re working independently, building a team, or running a brokerage, we can help you:

Real estate businesses don’t all need the same level of accounting support. Some Realtors need help staying organized and tax-ready. Others want proactive tax planning as income changes throughout the year. And some are ready to hand off the bookkeeping altogether.
Tax preparation can stand on its own, or we can add proactive planning when it makes sense. That may include estimated tax planning, S corporation strategy, reasonable compensation, and looking ahead as your income or business changes.
Choose the level of bookkeeping support your business actually needs. Our Checkpoint option provides periodic cleanup and oversight three times a year, while Monthly Bookkeeping keeps your books consistently current. Either way, your QuickBooks Online or Xero account stays yours.
Your business may need different support at different stages. Start with what you need now, and add services when they provide meaningful value.
Not sure which level of support makes sense? You don’t need to figure that out before reaching out. We’ll talk about where your business is today and what would actually be useful.

Tax Preparation & Planning for Realtors
From annual tax preparation to proactive planning throughout the year, we help Realtors and real estate professionals stay ahead of estimated taxes, changing income, and important business decisions. When appropriate, we can also help evaluate S corporation strategy, payroll, and reasonable compensation.

Bookkeeping for Realtors
Good bookkeeping gives you more than organized records at tax time. Choose Checkpoint bookkeeping for periodic oversight and cleanup, or Monthly bookkeeping when you want your books consistently maintained throughout the year. Your QuickBooks Online or Xero account stays yours.

Working with a CPA who understands real estate commission income can go beyond preparing a tax return. We help Realtors and real estate professionals with tax preparation, estimated taxes, proactive tax planning, bookkeeping, S corporation decisions, payroll, and reasonable compensation. The level of support depends on what your business actually needs.
At a minimum, Realtor bookkeeping should clearly track commission income and the ordinary expenses of running the business so the records are useful for both tax preparation and business decisions. Fortitude offers Checkpoint bookkeeping three times a year or Monthly bookkeeping for Realtors who want more consistent support. We work in QuickBooks Online or Xero, and your accounting file and data remain yours.
Sometimes—but an S corporation isn’t automatically the best choice once a Realtor reaches a particular income level. The potential tax benefit needs to be weighed against reasonable compensation, payroll, additional tax filings, administrative costs, and the way the business actually operates. We can help evaluate whether and when an S corporation makes sense for your real estate business.
Because commission income can vary significantly throughout the year, simply dividing last year’s tax by four may not always give you the clearest picture of where you stand. Proactive tax planning can use current income and expected commissions to update projections and help you make more informed estimated tax payments.
Realtors may have deductible business expenses such as advertising and marketing, MLS and professional fees, continuing education, business technology, certain vehicle expenses, and qualifying home office costs. What is deductible depends on the facts, and good records matter. We focus on identifying legitimate business expenses and documenting them properly—not simply trying to label everything a write-off.
No. Tax preparation and bookkeeping can each stand alone. You can also add proactive tax planning when it provides meaningful value. If Fortitude handles your bookkeeping but not your tax return, bookkeeping does not include tax advice or tax planning. We’ll help you understand the available options without requiring you to purchase services you don’t need.
Tax software can prepare forms, but it doesn’t necessarily help you decide how to structure your business, plan for changing commission income, evaluate an S corporation, or build better financial systems. Realtors often begin looking for professional support when their income grows, taxes become harder to predict, or they want guidance that extends beyond filing the annual return.
